RV Park & Cabins
Chattanooga is a fantastic place to spend a day and a mediocre place to park an RV. The sites nearest the attractions are in-town lots — close pads, highway noise, and not much to look at once you are back from Ruby Falls. Sasquatch Farm is the other way to do it: stay on 130 mountain-top acres in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, and drive in for the day. Downtown Chattanooga is about 40 minutes down I‑24, and the Lookout Mountain attractions are closer than that.

Drive times to the Chattanooga attractions
All times are from the park at 2985 Browns Trace Rd, South Pittsburg, TN 37380, and all are approximate — check your own maps before you set out.
- Raccoon Mountain Caverns — about 30 minutes. First Chattanooga exit you reach (I‑24 exit 174, Lookout Valley).
- Ruby Falls — about 30–35 minutes. 1720 South Scenic Highway, on Lookout Mountain.
- Lookout Mountain Incline Railway — about 35–40 minutes, in St. Elmo.
- Point Park & Lookout Mountain Battlefield — about 40 minutes.
- Rock City — about 40 minutes. 1400 Patten Road, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
- Tennessee Aquarium — about 40 minutes. One Broad Street, downtown.
- Chattanooga Choo Choo & the Southside — about 40 minutes.
- Coolidge Park & the Walnut Street Bridge — about 40–45 minutes, north shore.
- Chattanooga Airport (CHA) — about 40 minutes.
Because you come in from the west, the Lookout Mountain cluster — Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Incline Railway, Point Park — arrives before downtown does. You can do all four in a single day without ever driving through the middle of the city.

A three-day Chattanooga sightseeing plan from the park
This is roughly what our guests end up doing, and it keeps the driving sane:
- Day one — Lookout Mountain. Ruby Falls in the morning, Rock City after lunch, Point Park for the late-afternoon view down the river. Back at the lake by dinner.
- Day two — downtown. Tennessee Aquarium, then walk the Walnut Street Bridge to Coolidge Park on the north shore. Easy day, lots of walking, no towing.
- Day three — stay local. The Lodge Cast Iron Factory Store & Museum is ten minutes away in downtown South Pittsburg, Nickajack Cave has the sunset bat flight in summer, and Foster Falls is a 20–25 minute drive into South Cumberland State Park.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sasquatch Farm a good base for sightseeing in Chattanooga?
Yes — that is most of why people book here. Downtown is about 40 minutes down I‑24 and the Lookout Mountain attractions are closer, so you get the city by day and 130 acres of quiet at night.
How far is Ruby Falls from the park?
About 30–35 minutes. Ruby Falls is at 1720 South Scenic Highway on Lookout Mountain, which you reach before downtown coming from the west.
How far is Rock City from the park?
About 40 minutes. Rock City is at 1400 Patten Road, Lookout Mountain, Georgia, just across the state line and about six miles from downtown Chattanooga.
How far is the Tennessee Aquarium?
About 40 minutes. It is at One Broad Street in downtown Chattanooga.
Can I do Lookout Mountain and downtown in one day?
You can, but it is a long one. Most guests split them — Lookout Mountain one day, downtown the next — because both involve a fair amount of walking.
What is there to do without leaving the park?
Two lakes, four waterfalls, bluff overlooks, more than 5 miles of trails, free kayaks and paddleboards, a dog park, a live music stage and Piggy's Store. Plenty for a rest day between city trips.
