Lodge Cast Iron Factory Store & Museum
The home of Lodge cast iron cookware since 1896 — a museum, a factory-seconds outlet, and the reason South Pittsburg throws a cornbread festival every spring.
Joseph Lodge started his cast-iron foundry in South Pittsburg in 1896, and the same family-run company still pours skillets there today. The flagship store at 220 East 3rd Street opened in 1994 to sell "seconds" — pans with a small cosmetic flaw that can't go out at full price — and in 2022 it added the Lodge Museum of Cast Iron, which walks visitors through the foundry's history and the cast-iron process from raw materials to finished skillet, including the world's largest cast iron skillet. The working foundry itself isn't open for public tours, except during South Pittsburg's National Cornbread Festival every April.
