Veterans Day Weekend 2026: Service Members Save 10% at Sasquatch Farm
Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday this year, November 11, 2026. That puts two weekends within reach of the holiday, November 7–8 and November 13–15, and a quiet midweek in between for anyone who can take a few days off. Sasquatch Farm RV Park sits on 130 mountain-top acres above South Pittsburg, Tennessee, about 40 minutes from Chattanooga, and active and former Service Members get 10% off their stay here all year long.
Here is how to put the discount, the Chattanooga Veterans Day events and a few days on the plateau together into one easy trip.
The 10% Service Member discount
Sasquatch Farm offers a 10% discount for active and former Service Members on RV sites, cabins and camping. It is not a one-day promotion; it applies year-round. Book online at book.sasquatchfarm.com, and if you have a question about how the discount is applied, call the office at (423) 919-9852 (Mon–Thu 9am–5pm, Fri 9am–6pm, Sat 10am–6pm, Sun 10am–4pm).
Veterans Day events near the farm, November 8–14
Chattanooga calls itself the Birthplace of the Medal of Honor, and the week around November 11 is a good time to see why. Dates below were confirmed as of early November; check each organizer's site for final details.
Sunday, November 8 – Big Band Day at the Chattanooga Market. The market's November 8 session starts at 11 a.m. and features live big-band music plus a Quilts of Valor presentation ceremony honoring veterans. Local food and craft vendors are part of the regular market.
Wednesday, November 11 – fee-free day at national parks. Veterans Day is a National Park Service fee-free day in 2026. Locally that means Point Park on Lookout Mountain, the one part of Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park that normally charges a $10 per-person entrance fee, is free for everyone that day. Chickamauga Battlefield and the Cravens House never charge an entrance fee. Veterans and Gold Star families can also get a free lifetime America the Beautiful pass that covers Point Park any day of the year.
Saturday, November 14 – Brick of Honor dedication. The Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center at 2 W Aquarium Way in downtown Chattanooga holds its Veterans Day Brick of Honor dedication at 11 a.m., with retired Command Sgt. Maj. Mike Hall as the featured speaker. The center's galleries cover the history of the Medal of Honor, including a Captain Larry Taylor exhibit built around his Cobra helicopter. Hours and ticketing are on the center's website.
Where to stay for the week
RV & camping: the park has 52 full-hookup RV sites with water, sewer and 50/30/20-amp electric at every site, pull-thru sites that fit big rigs and the tow vehicle, and room for horse trailers, ATV trailers and toy haulers. There is fiber Wi-Fi across the property, an on-site laundry, a bathhouse and a fenced dog park. Hike-in tent sites are first-come, first-served and have no power.
Cabins & Spa: three Nordic cabins, each with its own deck and fire pit. Cabin 28 and Cabin 36 share the same layout, with a living room, bedroom and a bathroom with a hand-painted waterfall mural. The Spa Cabin (Cabin 18) has a king bed, a built-in electric fireplace, a soaking tub and an outdoor kitchenette. Cabins book faster than RV sites on fall weekends, so if a cabin is the plan, book early. Rates are by phone: (423) 919-9852.
Staying longer? The park also offers monthly stays at $800–$1,080 per month depending on length of stay.
A quiet midweek on the mountain
Early November is one of the calmest stretches of the year here, and the property is the point. There are five miles of hiking and mountain-bike trails, four waterfalls (Big Bad Ass Bernard Falls is the farthest trek at about 1.8 miles in), bluff overlooks of the valley, and two lakes with free kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for guests. Every site has a fire ring, and the stars come out early this time of year. See the full list on Things to Do.
Piggy's Store, the camp store at check-in, stocks firewood, snacks and drinks, camp supplies, Tennessee grass-fed beef and chicken, specialty cheese, frozen coal-oven pizza baked in the store, local craft beer and Squatchy Style Bigfoot tees and hats. It is open seven days a week.
If you are here on Saturday, November 7, the Brothers in Black Johnny Cash tribute plays the lawn from 7 to 9 p.m., free for guests staying on the property; the events page lists it weekly through the fall, and the office can confirm the date.
A simple three-day plan
Day 1: Arrive, set up, and walk the Yellow Trail to the Sasquatch Throne overlook before dark. Dinner from the store, campfire after.
Day 2: Chattanooga day. Start at the Medal of Honor Heritage Center downtown, then head up Lookout Mountain to Point Park (free on November 11). Our Chattanooga sightseeing guide has drive times from the farm.
Day 3: Paddle the fishing lake in the morning, then stop at the Lodge Cast Iron factory store and museum in South Pittsburg, about 10 minutes from the farm, on the way out.
Good to know before you book
A 20% deposit secures your reservation. It is non-refundable but can be applied to a future stay booked within a year, and the remaining balance is collected the night before check-in. If you arrive after office hours, your check-in packet will be on the door. Tent campers should plan to arrive before dark.
Sasquatch Farm RV Park is at 2985 Browns Trace Rd, South Pittsburg, TN 37380, in Marion County, just off I-24 between Chattanooga and Nashville. Thank you to everyone who has served; we would be glad to have you on the mountain this Veterans Day.
