Golf fans, meet your new home base
Big news for golf fans, road-trippers, and anyone who loves a good excuse to camp on a mountain: Good Good Golf brought their 2026 Good Good Tour “King of the Mountain” event to Sweetens Cove Golf Club — right here in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. And when we say “right here,” we mean it: Sasquatch Farm RV Park sits just a short drive from the course, making us the closest RV park to all the action.
Good Good — the wildly popular golf content creator team behind some of the most watched golf videos on the internet — brought their live, streamed Good Good Tour to Sweetens Cove for a stop of the season, presented by Mountain Dew, with a bracket-style, creator-and-celebrity-packed competition, food trucks, a 21+ bar, and fan competitions like a closest-to-the-pin contest. It was exactly the kind of event that puts a national spotlight on this little nine-hole course in the Sequatchie Valley.
Why golfers already love Sweetens Cove
If you're not already a die-hard, here's why golf people lose their minds over this place. Sweetens Cove is a nine-hole, King-Collins-designed course tucked into the foothills of the Sequatchie Valley — and it has become one of the buzziest, most talked-about golf courses in the country. Designed by Rob Collins and Tad King and reborn in 2014, it's earned a cult following among serious golfers, with financial backing from prominent names in the sport including Peyton Manning. This nine-hole gem plays like several different courses depending on how you route it, and it's landed on national top-course lists again and again.
It's also refreshingly unpretentious. The pro shop operates out of a wooden shed, there's no fussy tee-time system, and the whole vibe is “incredible golf, zero attitude.” It's an easy day trip from Chattanooga, Nashville, Atlanta, and Birmingham — which means golf pilgrims make their way here from every direction.
More than a place to park
Whenever there's a big event at Sweetens Cove, hotel rooms and parking spots near the course disappear fast — but you could be waking up on a quiet mountaintop just minutes away instead. Sasquatch Farm RV Park is the closest RV park to Sweetens Cove Golf Club, tucked away on 130 acres of forest, bluffs, lakes, and trails. Here's what's waiting for you when you roll in:
- 52 full hook-up RV sites for guests who want power, water, and sewer without giving up the mountain views
- Primitive and hike-to tent sites and lake sites for those who want to rough it a little
- Cozy cabins if you'd rather leave the camper at home
- Two lakes for fishing, paddling, and summer swimming, plus a sandy beach area
- Miles of wooded trails you can hike or mountain bike right from your site
- Free Wi-Fi, complimentary laundry, and hot showers
- Piggy's Store, our on-site camp store, stocked with local meats, local beer, ice cream, firewood, and Sasquatch Farm merch
- A stage where we host the occasional concert — and where you're always welcome to play
You don't even have to leave the property to fill up a whole day here. Cast a line or paddle out on one of our two lakes in the morning, spend the afternoon on five miles of wooded trails by foot or mountain bike, and wind down with a cold drink and some local eats from Piggy's Store. When the sun goes down, it's campfires, starry skies, and quiet you just can't get at a hotel off the interstate.
Make a weekend of it: Sewanee is 30 minutes up the mountain
Since you're already making the trip out for the golf, why not turn it into a full outdoor weekend? Point the truck toward Sewanee, home to the University of the South and about a 30-minute drive from Sasquatch Farm. The university's 13,000-acre Domain has more than 65 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, anchored by the 20-mile Perimeter Trail that runs along the bluffs of the Cumberland Plateau. A few favorites worth the drive:
- Shakerag Hollow — One of Sewanee's most popular hikes, especially in spring when the wildflowers bloom.
- Green's View — A sweeping overlook of the valley below, popular for picnics and sunset watching.
- Bridal Veil Falls — A 2.7-mile hike from Lake Cheston out to a waterfall that disappears into an underground stream.
- Lost Cove Cave (Buggytop Cave) — A 4-mile round-trip hike to one of the largest cave openings in Tennessee.
- Sewanee Village — Grab lunch or coffee downtown at spots like the Blue Chair Café, Stirling's Coffee House, or Shenanigans.
And of course, when you're done exploring, our own 130 acres have plenty of trails, bluff views, and two lakes to unwind by right outside your camper door.
