Every October, a 200-year-old working grist mill on the Sequatchie River turns into one of the best fall weekends on the mountain. The Ketner’s Mill Country Arts & Crafts Fair returns to Whitwell, Tennessee for its 48th year on Saturday and Sunday, October 3–4, 2026 — and Sasquatch Farm RV Park is close enough to make it a full weekend instead of a day trip.
What is the Ketner’s Mill Fair?
Ketner’s Mill is a real, still-working grist mill powered by the Sequatchie River, and the fall fair around it has been a Marion County tradition for nearly five decades. Expect 100-plus juried arts and crafts vendors, live bluegrass and folk music, blacksmith and pottery demonstrations, wagon rides through the countryside, and Southern-style food and a craft beer bar.

Why basecamp at Sasquatch Farm for fair weekend
Early October is exactly when the Cumberland Plateau starts turning — the fair coincides with the leading edge of fall color on the mountain. Rather than fighting for a hotel room in town, spread out on 130 acres and drive down to Whitwell each morning: 52 full-hookup RV sites or three Nordic cabins, fiber Wi-Fi and free on-site laundry, Piggy’s Store stocked with local meats, local beer, ice cream and firewood, and a quiet campfire to come back to each night.
Make it a whole weekend
The fair runs Saturday and Sunday, so plan on two nights. Hike the bluff trail Saturday morning, swim or paddle the lake when you get back, and squeeze in Foster Falls or Nickajack Cave on Sunday before heading home.
Tips for visiting Ketner’s Mill Fair
- Admission is $8 per person, cash only; children 8 and under are free
- Saturday hours run 9:00am–6:00pm, Sunday 10:00am–5:30pm (posted in Eastern time, though Whitwell sits in the Central zone)
- Wear real shoes — it’s a working mill property with gravel and grass
- Bring extra cash for vendor booths and food beyond the gate
- Go early on Saturday for the best parking and the coolest part of the day
- The property has new visitor rules under its current owner — pack out what you pack in and stay on marked areas
